The Road Less Traveled By Kimberly Rose Johnson

Sunriver Oregon is one of my favorite destinations. In past visits my husband and I discovered a trail that is just outside Sunriver, but we were always on foot and never able to make it to the end of the trail. That changed recently. We brought bikes!

We had no idea where the trail would lead us, mostly because we never noticed the map at the beginning of the trail until this past trip. Personally, I think the map is new.;)

As you can see from this picture the trail wove through some rustic terrain. We kept alert for wild animals, but only saw rock chucks. Kind of disappointing, but what was to come made the lack of wildlife okay.

This bridge marked the end of the paved trail. Years ago when our boys were kids we hiked the trail on the other side, but had come to it from the trailhead at the opposite end. Since I only have a street bike, taking the dirt trail was not an option, so we turned around and headed back.
I couldn't resist taking a selfie to commemorate finally making it to the end of the mystery trail. :)
LOL Those lines on my face are weird sun/shade marks not my skin. My hubby is in the background. We thoroughly enjoyed taking the road less traveled and plan to do it again someday.

In my book A Love to Treasure, school teacher Nicole Davis, goes to Sunriver for the summer. She definitely knows how to take the road less traveled as she follows the clues to a scavenger hunt her late grandmother sent her on. What follows is an exciting adventure filled with mystery and a little suspense.

Do you ever take a road less traveled? I'd love to hear about it in the comments.
