Coming Soon! The Encore Bride by Denise Devine

Do you like romantic comedies? My next release is a sweet story about Jenny Landon, a woman who is never going to get married again because she "doesn't believe in happy endings."

This story is part of a boxed set titled "Wedding Pets and Kisses" coming this April, but I've decided to start celebrating it now! I'm giving away a 6" x 9" wire bound notebook (same size as the future paperback) with the full-sized cover of the book on the front to one lucky poster who leaves a comment below. And if you don't win it, you'll get another chance to win one at the Sweet Romance Reads Valentine Party on February 9th!

New Year, New Books by Patricia Forsythe

Hello Sweet Romance Readers,
It is a pleasure and an honor to be welcomed back to the Sweet Romance Reads group.  2016 was a very hard year for many of us, and I hope you are all looking forward to a happy and prosperous 2017.  I’m happy to say that I have three books completed in my Oklahoma Girls series for Harlequin Heartwarming.

At Odds With the Midwife was released in November 2016 and The Husband She Can't Forget will be a February 2017 release, available in a few days.  His Twin Baby Surprise will be released in May 2017.

Writing this series was fun because I got to create Gemma, Carly, and Lisa, three lifelong best friends who always have each other’s backs.  I also enjoyed creating Nathan, Luke, and Ben, the men who love and challenge them.  Setting the books in Oklahoma gave me an opportunity to visit family there as I did research for the stories and developed the town of Reston and the sometimes quirky people who live there.
Most of my books have been set in Arizona where I was born and raised, and where I've lived most of my life.  I have ideas for a new series of books, but haven't decided on a state or community in which to set them.  I welcome any suggestions.
Warmest thoughts for a happy new year.

So I'm super excited to be the host of the day! To reintroduce myself, I'm Victoria Pinder, USA Today Bestselling Author. As it's valentine's coming up, I love chocolates. Anyone willing to send them, I'll be happy to partake. (I love chocolate so much, I gave up coffee when I was pregnant last year. I had to choose my caffeine and chocolate won by a landslide.)

Today I want to introduce a second boxed set, geared for readers who want to celebrate the love story and include a beloved pet. This set has 8 stories that will leave you breathless.

Amazon     Barnes and Noble    Kobo

Cupid worked overtime to deliver this Valentine's Day treat. Cuddle up with a heartwarming collection of dog tales, kitty and horse stories, and true love with these all-new sweet romances penned by USA Today and international bestselling authors.

Victoria Pinder — Keeping the Spy

J.L. Campbell — Cupid’s Gift

Jade Kerrion — Nurtured
High-flying corporate lawyer, Nicole Lefton, has neither the space nor time for distractions, but a car accident saddles her with the unexpected company of a large dog and the attentions of a handsome vet.

P.C. Zick — Love on Trial

It All Begins With A Simple Candy Heart

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and it’s the day we celebrate love with flowers, cards, and candy.

So what better theme for a set of new romances than the sweet and sometimes romantic sayings based on the Valentine candy hearts.

This year, myself and nine other authors have a ValentineMatchmaker collection of sweet love stories that are all based on sayings found on candy hearts.

Mine is entitled Marry Me, and it’s a contemporary romance set in the fictional town of Second Chance Montana. MarryMe is the latest of three books set in Second Chance.

I love the idea of a town that welcomes those in need of a second chance in life. Just like Kylie McGraw needed in MarryMe.

So, let me tell you a little about Kylie’s Second Chance.

Kylie is a baker who is so done with romance. The move to Second Chance, Montana is supposed to be her ‘second chance’ at a new beginning. Kylie throws herself into opening her very own bakery in the Second Chance Lodge and tries to convince herself she’s content with what she’s created. That is, until a mysterious stranger shows up at the lodge and has Kylie rethinking everything, including her former opinion on love.

Aiden Wilder just didn’t happen to show up at the Second Chance Lodge. He’s there for a reason. To meet the owner of the bakery and find out if she really stole his grandmother’s patented cookie recipe. The one that made Grandma Wilder’s Cookies a household legend. The last thing Aiden expects to do is to find himself falling in love with the bakery’s very attractive owner.
So come with me to Second Chance and meet some of the flawed people who have managed to find love in spite of themselves.
Love Me Tender - A Second Chance Romance Novella

In LoveMe Tender, Jackson Rivers is back in Second Chance, Montana. Seven years earlier, he broke Kellie's heart when he married someone else. Can she trust him when he tells her, he wants a second chance to prove his love to her? And can Kellie find the courage to tell him he left more behind than just her broken heart all those years ago.

In Dear Me, Tara Blevins is in desperate need of a second chance after her son’s death. But will she find it in the old lodge left to her by her cousin, or the man who broke her heart by promising her he’d love her forever.

Nothing about Tara and their troubled past adds up in Devon McAllister’s mind. Tara acts like he’s the one who broke off their relationship, yet nothing could be further from the truth. Devon tells her that after she left Second Chance, he wrote her several letters and gave them to her cousin to mail. When she didn’t respond to them, he believed he had his answer.

Was it all just a horrible misunderstanding? Tara tells Devon about the letters she wrote him. So why did Lisbeth want to keep them apart? And what might have happened if they’d each had a chance to read those letters?

So, in honor of love, I’m giving away an ebook copy of the entire Valentine Matchmaker boxed set to one blogger. I’ll select the winner at random announce it here. Good luck.

Publishers Weekly Bestselling Author Mary Alford grew up in a small Texas town famous for, well not much of anything really. Being the baby of the family and quite a bit younger than her brothers and sister, Mary had plenty of time to entertain herself. Making up stories seem to come natural to her. As a pre-teen, Mary discovered Christian romance novels and knew instinctively that was what she wanted to do with her over-active imagination. She wrote her first novel as a teen, (it’s tucked away somewhere never to see the light of day), but never really pursued her writing career seriously until a few years later, when she wrote her first Christian romance and was hooked. Today, Mary still lives in Texas, and still writes about romance. In fact, she can’t think of anything else she’d rather do. Hello, my name is Kristin Holt

I'm new to Sweet Romance Reads, and popped in to say a quick hello. I know many of you already. Looking forward to becoming well acquainted with all! I love rubbing virtual shoulders with readers and writers of sweet romance. Like many authors, I'm a big-time reader. I love to read romance. I suspect you and I have a lot in common.

A little about me...
Like the cast of Sweet Romance Reads authors, I write Sweet Romance. One difference is mine are all set in the Victorian American West (19th century). Old West, mining towns, ranches, farms, dairies, mail-order brides, lady lawyers, lady doctors, bandits, marshals, posses, small-town romances... My novels and novellas are always rated G or PG. (Be advised--one anthology I participated in contains a variety of sensuality levels--Silver Belles and Stetsons; my story within it is sweet.)

I'm a mother of four adult children, none of whom have seen fit to give me a grandchild. {Hear my baby hunger, and anticipation of much joy to come in that next stage of life.} I've been married to the same wonderful guy since I was too young to know better (21 years old), and we're rapidly approaching our 29th wedding anniversary. I'm a Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery) and Certified Childbirth Educator. I've kept my license active but don't currently work in medicine. I spent a happy, busy decade working for Weight Watchers: receptionist, leader, and ultimately a Territory Manager. Want to know more?

Now, I write full-time. Boy-howdy, do I love it! To date, I have fifteen titles (one is on pre-order, one is free to my newsletter subscribers--only through my website), and another western historical anthology (Gunsmoke & Gingham), coming February 15th, will increase that count to sixteen. Tip: If that anthology interests you, LIKE that FB page, so you'll be in the loop when that book releases, promptly on 2-15-17! I had the tremendous gift of an invitation to participate with a box set, Mail-Order Bride Collection: A Timeless Romance Anthology, which debuted about one year ago and hit the USA Today Bestseller's List, July 2016. Woot woot!

It's a party!
Today happens to be my fiftieth birthday. It's true. The BIG Five-O. (I'm not one to take my age too seriously.) Some people see my silver hair and assume either A) I qualify for the Senior Discount at their establishment, or B) I paid good money for this hair color at an upscale salon. True story--I'm allergic to hair color and sincerely don't care if I'm silver. Mother Nature gave me this hair color in my prime, and I'll roll with it.

Because it's my birthday, I feel like giving presents in celebration! Five winners (because it's the big five-o!), drawn at random, will each win their choice of any of my kindle titles. Winners must be willing to provide me their standard email address, privately, by Facebook's IM [instant messaging] / PM [private messaging] for use only in delivering their choice of books through Amazon. I promise winners will not suddenly find their email on my newsletter list or sold to some strange company. The drawing will close at midnight tonight (1-25-17), and winners will be drawn and announced tomorrow morning (1-26-17) in two places: an update to this blog post AND on Sweet Romance Reads Cafe (on FB).

TO ENTER, do two things: 1) Comment on this blog post, right here on SweetRomanceReads.com with an answer to this question: Have you read, in the past year or so, a sweet romance set in the Old West?--and if so, did the title or author stick in your mind (or what did you like about it)? 2) Comment on the pinned post on Sweet Romance Reads Cafe (this link on Facebook), about this blog post. A simple return greeting will do! (I wrote, hey, I'm new! I'm Kristin Holt. You might reply with "Hi, Kristin.") This one's easy! Then stay tuned! You might want to follow this post so you can come right back here tomorrow morning and see if you won! I might have ONE way to contact you--if you win--and that's through IM/PM on FB...so heads up, especially if we're not yet FB "friends". (Messages from not-yet-friends hide in "Message Requests".)

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you'll enter the drawing for your choice of my books. I'd love to make your acquaintance, and sharing my writing with you seems like a good way to do that.

Lights, Camera, and Action! by Pat Simmons

The day before Sweet Romance Reads author Ciara Knight shared her special events for her readers.
In less than four days, my first winter warmup Love is in the Air Author Meet and Greet gets underway. I’m celebrating my ten year anniversary since my first Christian romance, Guilty of Love, was published. Now, I have five series and more than thirty Christian romance titles to my credit.
The Love is in the Air Author Meet and Greet is intimate gathering for 50 guests. Tickets sold out in less than 30 days after I created a buzz that guests’ names would be included in a special edition of Love by Delivery.
Fans from across the country wanted to attend this St. Louis event, despite the weather. One such reader from Omaha, Nebraska, booked her airline ticket, because she didn’t want to miss out. Of course, she wanted to see her name listed in the special edition.
To say I’m super excited and nervous at the same time is an understatement as I take center stage. I’m humbled that my guests will spend their Saturday afternoon with me. But I’m making it worth their while with gift bags, give-a-ways, and special recognition prizes. Another blessing is the food is being catered free of charge by a church member as a gift to me.

The other version will go on sale two days later to the public.

So now, it’s countdown to Saturday, January 28, 2017. Let the fun and fellowship begin!

This is my favorite time of year because I get to spend an entire afternoon with amazing sweet romance readers! We eat delicious food, catered by Tea Leaves & Thyme, on fine china, giveaway a ton of amazing prizes, listen to short excerpts from authors, and watch Lindi Peterson and myself embarrass ourselves performing a skit. :)

This year our keynote speaker is New York Times bestselling author Dianna Love! She is an amazing speaker and an incredible author of amazing.

Also, we have inspirational romantic suspense author, Debbie Giusti, award-winning and bestselling author, Tanya Micheals, RT recommended Kimberly Brock, 2015 debut author of the year, Piper G Huguley, and bestselling author Linda Joyce.

Cover Reveal: I Love You Three by Milou Koenings

I have a new book coming out!

I've been saying that for months. I could have had a baby and then some by now. And now that it's finally happening, I can't quite believe it. I suspect I won't believe it until I start hearing from people reading it.

But it's time to reveal more than the cover.

I love you three by milou koenings

The book was set to launch last summer. Then a whole avalanche of medical events descended on almost every member of my family. We've spent so much time in hospitals we practically lived there. The book release kept having to be pushed off.

And part of me didn't mind because releasing a book is kind of scary.

Terrifying, actually, because no matter what you write, romance or dystopian YA thrillers, putting it out there is baring a part of your soul. Even in a make-believe world of spunky, beautiful heroines and strong, tender heroes, bits of the author's own life and experiences, or aspirations can't help seeping through.

And there's so much of that in my upcoming book, I Love You Three.

Someone recently asked me what my next book was about. I told her.

Want to know, too? This is I Love You Three:
Two broken people.

Mac’s a former marine struggling to adjust to civilian life after the death in combat of his best friend. When a teaching job opens up in the small town where his friend used to work in the summers, Mac takes it as a sign and moves to Green Pines, hoping to find refuge from his demons.

For Julie, there’s no refuge from night feedings, a crazy mom, an ex-mother-in-law and an overdrawn bank account. She’s struggling to build a better life for herself and her baby and the only thing she knows is she’s not falling for any guy again.

There’s only one problem. You never know when love will knock you off your feet.

The lady who'd asked me shook her head dubiously and said, "I thought authors are supposed to write about what they know."

I stared at her open-mouthed in shock, and then realized she doesn't know me. She sees me just as a work-at-home mom in a provincial town.

She doesn't see someone who grew up in a war zone and fights post-traumatic stress every single day.

She doesn't see the daughter and granddaughter of war survivors.

Doesn't see a woman surrounded by men who have been, are or will be in the military. Except for my dad and son-in-law — basically every man I know.

She never knew me as a destitute single mom desperate to survive.

And doesn't know me as someone who believes so strongly in second chances — because I keep being blessed with them time and time again...

It took me a moment to realize what a victory that encounter really was.

Here I am, finally — an ordinary mom in a more or less quiet town, living a perfectly ordinary life. How extraordinary.

That's exactly what I am going to wish for my wounded characters in I Love You Three as they start their journey out in the world when the book launches on February 7. (You can get it now on pre-order at Amazon!)

I hope you'll love them and wish them well as much as I do.

Oh, yeah. This was supposed to be a cover reveal, not an all-my-secrets reveal, wasn't it?

So here you go:
