Spring, The Season of Renewal by Josie Riviera

While the Pandemic we are facing across the world, COVID-19, is at the forefront of our thoughts, let's appreciate the “normal” things in our lives. Our families, the changing seasons and the celebrations may look different, but continue to observe the simple joys.

April is full of wonder, beginning with the arrival of Spring.
Easter is a spiritual renewal, and many of us attend or watch church services online. The commercialization of Easter brings to mind coloring eggs and Easter egg hunts for the children.
Did you know these celebrations go hand in hand?
The resurrection of Christ is about rebirth. The rabbits represent fertility and eggs, the start of life, which are both pagan symbols. When joined, they become our modern-day Easter. This is why Easter candies are often in the shape of rabbits and eggs.
Chocolate Easter eggs date back to the early 19th century when France and Germany began making chocolate eggs. They were basic, nothing elaborate, but the beginning of the wonderful confections we see today.
This Spring will be like no other, so find a reason to celebrate. The birds will sing, the flowers will bloom, and eventually life will return to normal.
