Janice Lynn--New Author to Sweet Romance Reads #sweetromance
Hi! I'm a newbie here, and am looking forward to our getting to know each other.
I'm Janice Lynn. I'm married to my dream guy. You might say he swept me off my feet. :) We have a blended family of 7 kids. Our house is never dull, to say the least. These days, they're all grown up and spread out from Memphis, TN to Columbia, SC and pretty much all in between.
We have the most adorable furry family member. Her name is Halo and, really, she's the boss--or thinks she is, anyway.
I work full time as a nurse practitioner in a family practice and love taking care of people and trying to make a difference in their health and lives. I view writing my stories in the same way--trying to make a difference in peoples' health and lives. I truly believe a book can change a person for the better by taking them somewhere and lifting them up. That's my goal with each story I write--to make someone feel better, to share a smile, some laughs, and them to leave the story feeling good inside. Sometimes, I get it right. :)
I sold my first book in 2005 to Dorchester Publishing and in 2006 I started writing Medical Romances for Harlequin. For some time, I've known my heart was toward writing sweet romance. My wonderful agent supported me on this and submitted the story I wanted to write. I'm ecstatic that on October 1, 2019, Hallmark Publishing released my first sweet romance, Wrapped Up in Christmas.
This story let me combine my passion for writing romance, quilting, and a love of Quilts of Valor Foundation. Sarah donates a quilt to QOVF and the quilt makes it's way to a wounded warrior named Bodie Lewis. When Bodie comes to thank Sarah for the quilt, she thinks he's answering her ad for a handyman and he goes with it, wanting to help the woman who helped him heal. There's a lot of small town shenanigans thanks to some meddling church ladies who call themselves the Butterflies and loads of Christmas charm throughout, just as you'd expect from anything to do with Hallmark. There's a yummy recipe for Cinnamon Swirl Bread included in the book, too. I'll let you in on a secret...that Cinnamon Swirl Bread recipe is a guarded secret as rumor has it that it possesses special abilities. Just saying...
On November 8, I'll be on Hallmark Channel's Home & Family talk show doing a DIY craft segment and discussing Wrapped Up in Christmas. I'm a bit (a whole lot!) nervous. Ack! But I'm so thrilled to get to share this special book with the world, to raise awareness for an organization I believe in, and to meet Cameron Mathison & Debbie Matenopoulos in person. Just wow!! If you're a Hallmark fan, be sure to check out the show & keep your fingers crossed I don't say Uhm too many times, that I can talk at all, and that I don't pass out, too. All good vibes & fingers crossed are much appreciated. :)
If you love small town romances that will tug on all your emotions and leave you warm and in the Christmas spirit, then I hope you'll read Wrapped Up in Christmas and let me know what you think of Sarah & Bodie's love story. Buy at Amazon Buy at Barnes & Noble
Now, that's a bit about me. Introduce yourself. Any Hallmark fans out there? Fans of Christmas stories? Any quilters?

ReplyDeleteWelcome, Janice. Your cover is beautiful. I do watch Hallmark channel, especially their mysteries.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Margaret. I love my cover. I love that Hallmark has branched into more mysteries...well, really, they keep expanding because people need good, clean, uplifting experiences and that's what they deliver. I think the same of our Sweet Romance Read authors. :)
DeleteI record and watch all the new Hallmark movies. Sometimes, I don't get them all watched until the following July. Congrats on the new book.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Merrillee. They have 40 new ones coming out this season. Between work and writing and family, it may be July before I get them all watched, too. But I look forward to seeing each one. :)
DeleteI'm so happy and excited for your new release, Janice Lynn. A sincere congratulations! And welcome to our wonderful group.
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I am happy to be here.
DeleteWelcome, I'm a book reviewer and tend to find authors who make mistakes in their books. I'm also a slow reader.
