Tomorrow (December 13) is National Hot Cocoa Day. I will be
celebrating with a cup of hot cocoa because some things just need to be
celebrated. How about you?
I’ve often heard that writers should write what they know,
so I often write about chocolate in my stories because I know a thing or two
about the subject.
If I weren’t a writer or graphic designer, I would be a
chocolatier for a living. I kid you not. I would literally be making and
selling chocolate somewhere out there in the chocolate-loving world. I can often be found creating chocolate in my
kitchen using dark cocoa, coconut oil, all-natural sweeteners, and other tasty but healthy ingredients.
In my story, Love’s Christmas Wish, Hope finds love through
the sweet delight. She's craving a cup of hot cocoa and it leads her to the coffee
shop where Justin is dressed as Santa Claus while waiting for Mrs. Claus, who
hasn’t arrived.
Later, Hope sees a box of chocolates in the window at The Christmas
Shop on Main Street and she
goes inside to buy it and Justin is there. He tricks her into becoming Mrs.
Claus.
And chocolate is one of the gifts they both give their friend’s child, Joy, for Christmas. Because chocolate is the perfect thing for
Santa and Mrs. Claus to give as a gift.
And of course, everyone lived happily ever after. Chocolate,
when combined with prayer, can be a powerful thing!
You can read all about it in Love's Christmas Wish.
What about you? Do you like – or love – chocolate?
Sounds like a great read, Cindy. Please share one of your chocolate recipes with us anytime. :)
