As a writer I need to keep my brain healthy. One way I do this is by eating my veggies. As it happens June 16th is Fresh Veggie Day. How cool is that?
I love fresh vegetables. I recently started making Summer Tomato Cucumber Salad which I learned about from another author. It is delicious!

What is your favorite summer veggie?
There are many other ways to improve brain health. For those who are interested, I've been studying this subject a lot of late and here is what I've learned.
The three best things you can do for your brain are:
Sleep: Between 10 PM and 2 AM is the most important sleep time for your body according to a doctor who is an expert on brain health.
Exercise: I've heard a couple schools of thought on often and how long we should exercise but everyone seems to agree that exercise is crucial for brain health. I've heard as little as 10 minutes a day of aerobic exercise will work.
Avoid processed sugar: Sugar causes inflammation. Which affects brain function.
I would add eat your veggies. I listened to a doctor speaking at a summit last night who stressed how important eating vegetables is. He suggested we should be eating 50/50 fresh and cooked veggies.
Let's keep our brains healthy together so we can all keep reading and enjoying life!
