Black Friday Shopping vs Decorating for Christmas?

Black Friday Shopping or Decorating for Christmas?

I hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving. We had wonderful family time together (except for my son Jon who had to work at the hospital) and of course we ate far too much food.

The Friday after Thanksgiving is most well known for shoppers heading out to various stores to grasp the best holiday deals. Would it shock you to find out I have never once gone shopping the Friday after Thanksgiving? It's true. When I was younger I often had to work that day, and even when I didn't the last thing I wanted to do was to push my way through the crowds to shop. I don't like shopping on a good day, much less when there are massive crowds.

In our household the Friday after Thanksgiving is the day we pull out the Christmas decorations and begin to transform our normal household to one of festive holiday cheer! I think part of my decision to do this is because I adore everything about Christmas!

This is a picture from last year, my daughter Nicole, her husband Michael, me and my husband Scott and my son Jon!

I'm still working our decorations, but I thought I'd share a couple of Christmas Tree Photos from the past.

So what do you think? White lights or colored lights? I like them both, lol!

Hubby's job is to do the outside lights, but I can't find a picture from last year, sorry. But we usually have red and green spotlights on the front of the house pointing toward a large wreath.

Tell me what your plans are for today. Will you be shopping for the best deals or decorating?

It's not too late to order a copy of True Blue K-9 unit Christmas! This book will be available on December 1, 2019.

  1. Neither. I'll be visiting with my brothers before they have to leave today and cleaning up from Thanksgiving.

    1. Hi Sue, thanks for stopping by. It's a bummer your husband has to work, but like you I don't want to fight the crowds either. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  6. Decorating for me. I used to go shopping on Black Friday, but not recently. Today was windy and rainy, not a good day for any kind of shopping.
