Pajama Party Overload by Pat Simmons

Earlier this month, I attended the annual Christian Book Lovers Retreat in Charlotte. It was CRAZY fun and spiritually refreshing. There were so many highlights at the retreat but one of my favorites was the pajama party. Mind you, this event happened a few hours after the banquet. A person might think that it would be a no-show because attendees would be too exhausted to slip on their pajamas and leave their hotel room--wrong.

A lot of people were asking about my beloved character, Mrs. Beatrice Tilley Beacon aka Grandma BB, which had not made an appearance at the retreat. I assured them that she planned to be at the p.j. party.
Grandma BB did not disappoint. I donned my gray wig and two-tone black and white Stacy Adams shoes and stepped into the party. It was a hoot!

It's that time of the year when merchants are pushing matching pajama sets for the family, but these book lovers took it to another level. Pajamas not just for family, but book clubs!
The old school games played were hilarious! A Hoopla Hoop contest and back in the day dances. When was the last time you attended a slumber party? Did you stay up all night?

That's it for me this month. Enjoy the holidays with family and friends. Happy Thanksgiving from the Simmons.

Need an inspirational Christmas story? Take your pick.
If you're read my back list, download my latest story in the Small-Town Christmas series: About Taye's Gift
Who lays off someone before the holidays? Taye Thomas’ employer did, so instead of Christmas shopping, she’s job hunting. More devastating news comes when an old high school friend passed away. Could God be answering her prayers for help when she learns that Charity Hart left a $1500 check?
No, the caveat is it’s more blessed to give than receive. Taye has 30 days to find someone else in need to bless. To complicate matters, she’s lives in Kansas City, which is more than eight hours away from Snowflake and she can’t do it alone. Keeping a secret has never been so much work.

One last mention for gift giving. Need something inspirational for caregivers, pre-order your copy of LEAN ON ME. It's book one in the Family is Forever series. Publishers Weekly says, "It's sure to tug at readers' heartstrings." Let that friend, family and church member know you're thinking about them.
