When I asked my daughter what she thought I should blog
about, she gave me a tired smile and said, “Babies.” As the mother of two daughters, a newborn and
a seventeen-month-old, that’s pretty much all that’s in her brain right
now. Since I’ve been around to help her
out for a few days, that’s mostly what I’ve been thinking about, too (And, by
the way, how could I have forgotten how busy and fast a seventeen-month-old
is? My granddaughter makes IronMan look
like he’s rusted in place!). Matters
were made a little more complicated by a miscommunication about the baby’s due
date and her reluctance to enter the world.
She finally made her grand entrance a few hours before the release of
the Sweet Christmas Kisses boxed set in which I have a book along with thirteen
other wonderful authors.
Because of the current craziness in my life, my
participation in all the activities for our launch have been somewhat limited
so I am publically thanking my fellow authors who have stepped up to run
contests and parties, advertise, blog, and post responses to reader input. You are remarkable authors and hard-working
women. I’m proud to be in this project
with you.
For me, the best part of this book launch has been reading
the posts from readers, learning a little about their lives and what interests
them. Everyone has a busy life and daily
challenges, and there are many people going through hard times but they make
the effort to read our books and let us know they enjoyed them. It’s humbling and exhilarating all at the
same time. For that reason, along with
the birth of my granddaughter, and hearing good news about the health of a
loved one, September 29th and 30th 2014 are two days I’ll
always remember.
I thought there'd be pictures! LOL!
ReplyDeleteReally, Grandma, where are the photos? Congrats and best wishes to the little one.
ReplyDeleteLovely post, Patricia! So happy for your family with the blessed new addition. I'm fortunate to be along for the ride with all of you talented authors.
