Let's explore some fun days to celebrate on April 14th. We should find something to celebrate every day of the year.
First up. National Reach as High as You Can Day. I like to think of this as a day for reaching for our dreams or goals. I like this quote from Walt Disney.
Next let's celebrate Look Up At the Sky Day. Doesn't this go along with Reach as High as You Can Day? Make sure to take a moment and gaze at the sky today and tonight. See if you can find shapes in the clouds. I belong to a group called the Cloud Admiration Club. We share photos of clouds with each other. Below are some of the many cloud photos I have.
I could go on with the sky photos, but there are more fun things to celebrate. Today is National Dolphin Day. When we lived in Florida, many days I would walk at the beach. I was always on the lookout for dolphins. I always considered it a good day if I saw them. You might enjoy the video below that I took ten years ago at the Baltimore Aquarium. I learned that they no longer have these dolphin shows.
And last but certainly not least, today is National Bookmobile Day. I remember as a kid looking forward to the bookmobile. It would stop right in front of our house. Did you ever use a bookmobile? This holiday is held in conjunction with National Library Week. What better way to end a blog post from a writer!
April 14 has so many special days to celebrate! Although National Dolphin Day holds a lot of appeal, I posted one on my Facebook page that you do not have listed here. I decided to vicariously enjoy the skills some of my friends have with plants, so I shared National Gardening Day and asked them to share pictures. I love your cloud photos. I have never been to a bookmobile. The public library (and school library when classes were in session) were both convenient whenever I needed access to one.
ReplyDeleteNice photos, Merrillee!
ReplyDeleteI loved the bookmobile that came to my school as a child. I attended a three room country school for 4th and 5th grade. Our library was literally a closet. The bookmobile was a treat!
