Meet Otis - My Furry Grandbaby!
My son Jonathan has a new puppy! Otis is a Red-Fox English Lab Retriever. He is super adorable, and at this moment, probably the closest I'm going to get to being a Grandma, lol.
I have mentioned in the past that my son is an RN at the same hospital where I worked for 38 years. Jon works 12.5 hour shifts, so I get to puppy sit Otis a lot! He only lets me write while he's sleeping, sigh. Otherwise he has lots of energy.
I have to say, it's been a while since I had a puppy underfoot, and have already tripped over him twice! Poor little guy. When Otis is awake, he loves to play, especially with his ducky or his flamingo. We have loads of fun together, and I'm really happy I'm able to help Jon out by watching Otis while he's at work.
Isn't he just a cutie pie?
I'm part of a group of six authors who have written stories with the theme Puppies for Christmas. If I'd have known about Otis before I wrote my book Christmas Redemption, the puppy in that story would have looked just like Otis. But alas, Belle the puppy in my story is a German Shepard.
Okay, my question of the day is, what is your favorite breed of dog or cat? I've had a Westie, a Chocolate Lab and now this new puppy. Not sure I can pick a favorite, lol but if I did, I'm choosing Otis. Because I love him.
Laura, thank you for introducing us to Otis. Maybe he can star in a future story? All my dogs and cats have been mixed breed, so I can't really weigh in on having a favorite. As long as there's love, it's all good.
ReplyDeleteThanks Madgalena, Otis will absolutely end up in a story sometime soon! I love all animals but am allergic to cats, so dogs end up being my favorite. And you are right, love is always enough.
ReplyDeleteOtis is adorable. I'm also a fan of German Shepherds. We had one growing up and she was an amazing dog.
ReplyDeleteI love German Shepherds too Kimberly!
