Sandals in March....Something Rotten...and Roxanne asks a question about llamas

How's that for a strange subject line?  It has been strange here in the Upper Midwest, as far as the weather goes.  From single digits at the end of last week, to almost eighty degrees yesterday.

It's only March 5th, but the shade trees are budding and the local orchard owners are worried about their apple crops.  I hope the trees haven't been fooled by the unseasonable weather! How is it where you live?

There's a beautiful old community theatre in town where one can see excellent productions.  It had been a long while since we'd gone, but I saw the musical "Something Rotten" on Broadway at least five years ago and thought it would be fun to see it again.  The local talent blew me away.  I can't carry a tune in a bucket, so I love to listen to people who can--and can do it so brilliantly!

I write romantic suspense, and my "brand" (my promise to readers) is that in addition to suspense and romance, they will find a warm thread of family relationships, a thread of faith, and an animal of some kind that makes a difference for the characters in the story.

Including an animal on my covers visually alludes to that, as opposed to covers promising gritty, intense, or even violent suspense. Usually, there's a dog of some kind in the story. My next release is just a bit different!

I posted a question about its cover on our Sweet Romance Reads Cafe, learned from those answers, then asked my cover artist for a tweak. Here is the new version.

Question! What do you think about having a llama on a clean romantic suspense cover? Intriguing...or jarring?  This llama does appear throughout this light romantic suspense, with humorous notes.

I would love to hear your comments and suggestions.
