The Beauty Of Love At Any Age by Josie Riviera

Love is wonderful and comes in so many forms.

Defined by Miriam-Webster as:

·      strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties. Such as parental love for a child.

·      attraction based on affection and tenderness felt by lovers. As in romantic love between partners.

·      warm attachment, enthusiasm, or devotion. This could be a favorite sports team or musical artist.

·      to hold dear. Perhaps a favorite gift that holds great memories.

·      to like or desire actively; take pleasure in. An activity that brings you joy, maybe sewing or running.

Saying “I love….” can mean so very many things!

Today I’m focusing on romantic love and marriage.

Through the years, there has been a societal shift.

Years ago, couples married young. Now, marriage is frequently left until later and divorce is, sadly, more common. We have more second marriages than was the norm of days gone by.

Sometimes, love can be found later in life.

We hear stories where sweethearts reunite, finding they are both unattached and marry so they can enjoy their later years together.

In my newest contemporary romance release, A Chocolate-Box Summer Breeze, the main characters, Emily and Joe, fall in love in their 70’s. It is a sweet story, and one you will enjoy.

Do you agree that romantic love is for all ages, not just the young, but the young at heart too?

  1. Bob & I met when I was 49 and he was 51. I had never been married, and he had been married twice before. But we both needed to go through everything we did before meeting each other to be at the right place for us to work. God works in mysterious ways, and that is very true. Had we met when we were younger, we wouldn’t have worked. We lived on opposite sides of the state, and met through eharmony.com. And it’s been a wonderful ride, with many ups and downs. We’ve handled them all beautifully...together.
