I spent weeks rewriting my story, Since You Went Away, and I
enjoyed it more than words could say, but when I began creating the cover, I
struggled to find an image to represent the lead romantic couple.
Since You Went Away is an emotional romance about a grieving
widow and widower who have no interest in falling in love again but God has a
different plan and brings them together.
Violet has dark hair and Tom is blond and
they’re both in their late thirties. Finding an image with a romantic couple who looks that way isn’t easy! There
are plenty with couples that have one of those traits or the other, but not all of them in one picture.
After a long search, I found a photograph that I
loved but it’s only a pair of legs on the beach. The story takes
place by the sea, so it worked perfectly.
What do you think? Do you prefer a book with the couple’s
faces on the cover or are legs okay?
P. S. Stay tuned for the publishing details!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much, everyone, for your comments. It makes me feel encouraged.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely cover. I kind of like to form my own picture of characters using the author's description. So legs are fine with me. No people works for me, too.
