Happy Pi Day

Did you know today is Pi Day? Personally I prefer the eating kind of pie rather than the mathematical symbol. What about you? How about a pizza pie?

Or maybe you prefer something sweet, like a whoopie pie.

Or maybe a fruit pie. I believe this one looks like the photo of a a blueberry pie that I made several years ago. Yum!! We are traveling right now, and the grocery store had blueberries on sale for 77 cents for a pint. So I bought 4, forgetting that we were leaving town in a few days. I decided to bake a blueberry pie and bring it with us. We are visiting with one of my brothers and his wife. We had half the pie the first night we arrived. I think we might finish it off tonight, especially since it is Pi Day.

In the first book of my Front Porch Promises series, the heroine is restoring an old house to make it into a bed-and-breakfast. She is definitely making pies to serve to her guests. I'll be giving away an e-book copy of A Place to Call Home, the first book in the series, to one person who leaves a comment. I will draw the winners name on March 16 at 9PM MST.

  1. The cashier at the grocery store reminded hubby and me that today is Pi day. Of course, there were fresh baked pies in the front of the store. I did not purchase one, but truly thinking about going back to purchase a delicious pie. :-)

  9. I stopped at the store on the way home from church just to buy a pie for pie day. :) My husband asked for pumpkin, and my oldest son asked for key lime. My youngest son didn't want any. So I didn't get my favorite, which is cherry, but I got the other two (and some chocolate chip cookies for my youngest). :D

    1. Lila, both choices are good. There is actually a National Pie Day. I don't remember when it is, but we can celebrate pie on that day. You can have your cherry pie then. :)
