You may have seen the poll that I posted at the Sweet
Romance Reads Valentine’s party last week. I asked the question, “What’s
your favorite gift for Valentine’s Day?” Thank you to everyone who voted and to
those who added gifts to the poll.
Here are the results:
What’s your favorite gift for Valentine’s Day?
#1 Chocolate
#2 Anything
#3 Romantic Dinner
#4 Books
#5 Tied: Flowers and Jewelry
#6 Gift card
The results of the poll took me by surprise. I
had expected flowers and jewelry to be at the top of the list. Every Valentine’s
Day, I see news reports from flower marts that are packed with men who have gone there
to buy roses for the special woman in their life. Heartwarming, romantic
commercials with sparkly jewels fill the TV screen. Yes, flowers
and jewelry are amazing gifts, but bling and blooms aren’t at the top of
everyone’s list of faves. The poll proved that it doesn’t take much to make most
of us happy. Chocolate, or just anything, can make our Valentine’s Day
perfect.
What do you think? Did the results surprise you? Do you
agree with them?
I agree with the results, Cindy. Chocolate makes any day perfect...but especially Valentine's Day. :)
ReplyDeleteSo true! I agree with the poll results too. Chocolate for Valentine's Day is perfect.
DeleteI love chocolate, but we always got something for the house to celebrate our Valentine wedding anniversary.
ReplyDeleteA Valentine's Day wedding anniversary? How romantic. Happy Anniversary!
DeleteI read 8 billion dollars are spent on Valentine's Day for chocolate.
ReplyDeleteBillions? That's astounding. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. Nothing says "I love you" like chocolate does. :)
DeleteRussell Stover's chocolates. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI expected chocolate to take the top spot. Too bad my Valentine's Day chocolate is all gone.LOL
