Keeping busy....

For those of you here in the USA, Happy Labor Day weekend!  Are you traveling?  Camping?  Do you have company coming?

We have done so much traveling on this three-day weekend over the years--off to see relatives in Minnesota or Wisconsin, usually--or have had company staying with us instead.  This year, it seems so strange to be staying at home, just my husband and I, except for plans for dinner with our son and his family on Sunday.

Things are quiet here, but are we ever making progress on our To-Do lists!   My hubby has been busy painting,  and I've been busy going through closets and storerooms, creating an ever increasing pile of things to take to Goodwill, recycling or a consignment store. It's always such a good  feeling to drive a load of this stuff to town.

Honestly, given how often I do this, one would think the closets would be bare by now.  Instead, our possessions seem to accumulate on the sly when my back is turned and I wonder if this process will ever end?!  And my office....oh, my.  I have to admit, I'm a "saver" while my husband is the complete opposite, but still.  I am trying!

How about you--do you manage to keeps things neat as a pin?  Do you have any advice for those of us who struggle?   Please share your thoughts!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

  1. Roxanne, I am no help. I struggle with keeping my desk in order. My house is in pretty good shape, but this place where I work all the time is usually chaotic. I clean it, but in no time it is a mess again.

  2. We have Labour Day here in Canada, too! The kids go back to school on Tuesday, so they are enjoying the last few days of their vacation.
