Kimberly Rose Johnson Asks: What is Your Favorite Candy?

I don't know about you, but October is one of those months when I have candy on the brain. I was very tempted to pull over and visit Sees Candy the other day, but I resisted and kept driving.

Do you have a favorite candy that's hard for you to say no to?

In my Librarian Sleuth series, my main character Nancy Daley loves M&Ms. She and I have that in common.

The first two books in that series are available in a bargain collection that's currently only 99¢ or free with Kindle Unlimited. Here's the blurb for the first book.

The Sleuth's Miscalculation

Librarian Nancy Daley loves a good mystery and enjoys moonlighting as a consultant for the sheriff's department. When license plates go missing in Tipton County, she's on the case.

Sheriff Deputy Carter Malone expects Tipton, Oregon to be a sleepy small-town, but he miscalculated. To make matters worse, he's forced to consult with the Sheriff's daughter who is only an amateur sleuth. When the minor case they are working morphs into something more, things quickly go from harmless to scary.

Can they solve the mystery before it's too late, and more importantly, what will they do about their growing attraction.

Available at Amazon.

ONE MORE KISS....and a gift card drawing!

August at last, and am I ever looking forward to autumn!  Not just for cooler weather, but for the September 10th release of my third book in the Northern Pines series, ONE MORE KISS.

Humor, romance...and a mystery!  It's up for pre-order now.  CLICK HERE to order or find more information.

Here's a quick preview:

In One More Kiss, a disillusioned lawyer searching for a quiet life in a small town inadvertently ends up sharing his elderly aunt’s vacant house with a woman who has secrets to hide from her troubled past, a young daughter, and a menagerie of epic proportions. But there's also danger lurking in this small town...

I loved writing this book. It was just so much fun, because--as many who follow my blog might know--I've been an animal lover all my life and there aren't many types of pets I haven't had at one time or another.

And when the kids were growing up, oh my! Cockatiels, bunnies, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, tarantulas, fish, and all manner of lizards and pet snakes were added to the mix.

Now we have just the more standard variety (two golden retrievers, eight very friendly, lazy barn cats that follow me everywhere, three horses, and a peacock who occasionally stops in for extended stays. 😀

Do you have any pets at your house? Or when you were growing up?  Leave a comment and be entered in a drawing for a $10.00 Amazon gift card  or an e-copy of ONE MORE WISH  (two winners)

Best wishes to you all for a wonderful end to your summer!

Changing Seasons by Laura Ashwood

As we approach the end of August, I can feel myself getting really excited for fall. My husband and I are lucky enough to live in a state that experiences four distinct season changes. I will admit, contrary to most people, I am NOT a fan of summer and prefer the cooler weather that fall and winter bring.

Fall brings crisp air, the changing vibrant colors of the leaves, and my very favorite thing...the beginning of sweatshirt weather. I could LIVE in sweatshirts year 'round if we didn't have summer.

The seasonal shift also tends to be a time I reflect on the goings on of the season on its way out.

This summer was eventful for us, despite the pandemic. Our first grandchild celebrated his 2nd birthday with a very small party. We were fortunate that day to be able to bring grandchild #2 with us to celebrate because grandchild #3 was born that same day.

From a writing perspective, this summer was also really good to me. While I am still struggling with anxiety over what's going on in the world, writing gives me an escape, kind of like reading but on a different level. I published my second book, A Little Something Sweet, and finished my first historical, An Agent for Clarissa - which went live yesterday. I've got my 2021 writing calendar full and it's quite ambitious. Go big or go home, right?

Did you have any memorable events this summer?

What is your favorite season? I'd love to know!

Until next month!

xo, Laura

Looking Toward the Future with Kimberly Rose Johnson

I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to what 2020 has in store. I like to keep my schedule loose to allow room for a project that might fall in my lap, but I do have a couple of books I feel I must write this year.

I had planned to write the next book in my Law Enforcement heroes series first, but due to lack of inspiration, I'm instead working on another series I started a while ago. Revisiting this another romantic suspense series has been fun.

How many books do you like in a series?

Do you enjoy a series more when all the books are released close together rather than waiting six months to a year or longer?

My Librarian Sleuth Series has three books out right now, and they are all available to read for free with Kindle Unlimited.
Inspired by Nancy Drew mysteries, this series has a mystery in each book with plenty of suspense mixed in.

Award winning author Kimberly Rose Johnson married her college sweetheart and lives in the Pacific Northwest. From a young child Kimberly has been an avid reader. That love of reading fostered a creative mind and led to her passion for writing. She especially loves romance and writes contemporary romance that warms the heart and feeds the soul.Kimberly holds a degree in Behavioral Science from Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington, and is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers.
