Behind the Scene with Margaret Daley

Behind the Scene (or should I say desk) with Margaret Daley

I've been writing since the Dark Ages—well, the late 1970s. My first book was published in 1981. People have asked me if I always wanted to be a writer. No, that was a surprise for me. I used to make up stories while I played with my dolls, but no thoughts about being a writer. I wanted to be a teacher. I did go on and teach school for 28 years and loved that job, but while doing that I discovered I wanted to write too. I love reading—I have thousands of books in my house. One day I thought I would try to put a story down on paper. I did although I will never show anyone that book. After writing the first one. I went on to write many more. I've published over a hundred books.

Who is Margaret Daley? I'm a wife of forty-six years with one son and two granddaughters. We have three cats—Ringo, Peppy and Charlie (she's our watch cat and growls when someone comes to the house). I'm retired after teaching children with special needs. Below is a photo of me and my husband in Aruba. The wind was REALLY blowing that day.

Below is a picture of part of my office. I write on a laptop and sit on a couch when I do. My husband framed my books and hung them on the wall in my office. I spend more time in that room than anywhere else in my house. My office has a lot of flamingoes in it. A friend sent me the six-foot flamingo. Often my cats join me to help me write. See below.

I love to travel. My favorite place I've been to is Tahiti but I've also loved many other places I've visited from England to Austria to Greece to Brazil. Some of the pictures below are of my travels.

My favorite author is James Rollins and I got to meet him at RWA conference in California. It was exciting to talk to him. When I read his books, I'm transported to another place. Below is a photo of James Rollins, me and a good friend, Laura Marie Altom.

My newest book is Her Baby Protector, a March Love Inspired Suspense. Blurb Saved by the Lawman by Margaret Daley

As an unknown assailant attempts to kidnap family-court judge Kate Forster's infant son, police officer Chase Walker thwarts the attack—and vows to keep the pair safe. But who will protect the ex-marine's heart when the widowed mother and her little boy make him long for a permanent spot in their family?

A sneak peek of my cover of my next book coming out in June. Deadly Fires will be my 9th book in my romantic suspense series: Strong Women, Extraordinary Situations.
