Decorating for Christmas by Merrillee Whren

Decorating for Christmas is one of the things I love to do, but this year I cut back. We were having our house painted, and it interfered with the outdoor decorating. I usually have two large trees and two smaller trees that I decorate. I decided to only do our family room tree. It's a tall slim tree that fits in the corner next to our TV. I have all of the Hallmark singing toys that I've collected over the last twelve years. My granddaughters love to play them.
I put out most of my nativity sets, but a few were left in the boxes this year. Here are some of them. This one is the very first one that my husband and I got after we were married. Since then I have collected over twenty sets.
These are some of my favorites.

How do you like to decorate for Christmas? Do you have a favorite ornament of decoration?

  1. Wow! 20 Nativity scenes. We have only one ~ which I need to get up ~ the one we've had since our first Christmas. Over the years, though, it had gained numerous extra visitors to the manger.

  2. I started to collect them, and then people started giving them to me. So I finally had to say, "enough!" I ran out of places to display them.
