Happy Pi Day by Merrillee Whren

Several years here on the Sweet Romance Reads blog I have blogged about Pi Day. It just seems like a fun day to combine homophones Pi and Pie. I have to admit that I like Pie better than Pi. In case you've forgotten from your school days, Pi is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter, which is approximately 3.14159. All of you math enthusiasts may know that Pi is an irrational and transcendental number that has been calculated to over one trillion digits beyond the decimal point. I also think it's interesting that most pies are a circle.

Pi Day also fits in with my upcoming release, the first book in my Pinecrest series. My heroine is super smart and a math and computer whiz. Here is a cover reveal and a blurb about the book. Be looking for a chance to preorder the book in the next couple of weeks.

Madness in March by Merrillee Whren

March is a month filled with interesting days and celebrations. As a kid I always checked to see if March came in like a lion or a lamb. This year March came in like a lamb where I live in Arizona. What happened where you live?

 

March is also a big month for college basketball. I've been a big fan for years and have made my bracket picks for the NCAA basketball tournament every year. It's a true guessing game even for the experts. Every year I have my favorite teams and the teams I love to cheer against. One of these times, I hope my favorite will win. This year I have two, the University of Arizona and Gonzaga University. Unfortunately, if they continue to win, they will meet each other in the round of eight. So both of them can't go on to the Final Four. Choosing the right team to win it all is never a slam dunk. Do you ever try your hand at picking the winner of the tournament?

St. Patrick's Day is in March. It is only a few days away, and I intend to wear green. When I was a kid, we always pinched anyone who didn't wear green on St. Patrick's Day. Here's an Irish blessing a few days in advance.

And finally, all mathematicians can celebrate because today is National Pi Day.
