Am thinking of authors Jeanne Ray and LaVyrle Spencer who wrote older heroines. I don't have a preference as such, just a good sweet romance that hooks me in although like Helen, Cinderella appeals, esp if she isn't a cliché slim, gorgeous heroine but a plain Jane, maybe even a little tubby. I may have to write that myself cos I don't think I've ever read it.Joannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02792443414478682811noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4549640562097540413.post-31308935095673784262014-03-31T14:29:18.192-07:002014-03-31T14:29:18.192-07:00I do have favorite tropes, I love the Cinderella t...I do have favorite tropes, I love the Cinderella type of story and childhood sweethearts reunited. Great covers also lure me in--with a really great cover, I sometimes find I've inadvertently re-purchased the same book! :)RoxanneRustandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03443712316288965799noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4549640562097540413.post-76985626110177360422014-03-31T10:38:10.100-07:002014-03-31T10:38:10.100-07:00It's fun to see what draws you all to a book. ...It's fun to see what draws you all to a book. Donna, you make me realize it's probably a connection with the heroine that is pulling me in. It could be where she lives (small town) or who she falls for, or what she does for a living, more than just the trope.Aileenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09759164815403543257noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4549640562097540413.post-69118875612174196422014-03-31T10:27:51.490-07:002014-03-31T10:27:51.490-07:00I love old loves and the boy next door stories, bu...I love old loves and the boy next door stories, but I have a hard time relating to love at first sight. I might connect with a character trait or attitude of the protagonist. Or I empathize with the protagonist's situation or her past or her inability to trust. I guess I'm lucky to have an imagination that allows me to enjoy any type of romantic story, no matter the theme. Donna Fasanohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09386295931460318306noreply@blogger.com
