Would you pay $99,000 for a Valentine’s Day dinner? by Josie Riviera

Last year, my local Waffle House offered inexpensive Valentine’s Day dinners featuring their trademark waffles and bacon. To complete the ambiance, candles and a white tablecloth added a touch of romanticism.

However, those people with a more disposable income can opt for dinner prepared at their home by a Michelin chef for . . . $99,000!

In an article I recently read, the eight-course meal may feature such items as duck eggs, truffles, and bottle of $27,000 wine.

Entertainment? A professional harpist or violinist, white doves, and/or a poet.

From my research, this Valentine’s dinner has not yet been purchased, but it certainly speaks of luxury at its best.

Do you have any special plans for Valentine’s Day?

My husband is checking into Waffle House, although we may opt for early dining at our favorite local restaurant in the Charlotte, NC, area, instead.

  1. Not fond of crowds, ao make a special dinner at home with a good bottle of wine. Have a $100 gift card from our kids to our favorite fancy restaurant. Love their sea food, especially the lobster. May have homemade waffles for breakfast - yeast waffles are the best and sour cream waffles second best.

  2. No I wouldn't pay that amount. Unless it includes a yacht in the Mediterranean. No plans for Valentine's day. Though he did ask me what he could make me for dinner.

  5. No,I wouldn't pay that even if I could afford it! We celebrated my granddaughter's 21st birthday last night, so, I don't think we will do anything for Valentine's day!

  9. Valentine's Day is our wedding anniversary, and we seldom go out because too many other people are doing so. We have often celebrated with a trip of some kind.

  10. I would never pay that much for a dinner. I’d rather make my own and put on romantic music in the background. My husband and I are going out for dinner the day before so we can enjoy a nice relaxing dinner without the crazy crowds. 🥰
