And The Results Are...by Cindy Flores Martinez

You may have seen the poll that I posted at the Sweet Romance Reads Valentine’s party last week. I asked the question, “What’s your favorite gift for Valentine’s Day?” Thank you to everyone who voted and to those who added gifts to the poll.

Here are the results:

What’s your favorite gift for Valentine’s Day?

#1 Chocolate
#2 Anything
#3 Romantic Dinner
#4 Books
#5 Tied: Flowers and Jewelry
#6 Gift card

The results of the poll took me by surprise. I had expected flowers and jewelry to be at the top of the list. Every Valentine’s Day, I see news reports from flower marts that are packed with men who have gone there to buy roses for the special woman in their life. Heartwarming, romantic commercials with sparkly jewels fill the TV screen. Yes, flowers and jewelry are amazing gifts, but bling and blooms aren’t at the top of everyone’s list of faves. The poll proved that it doesn’t take much to make most of us happy. Chocolate, or just anything, can make our Valentine’s Day perfect.

What do you think? Did the results surprise you? Do you agree with them?

    1. Billions? That's astounding. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. Nothing says "I love you" like chocolate does. :)

  4. I have to agree with anything. But don't get me wrong my Husband would try to get me the moon if I asked! Times are just tough. My Daughter and Grandson and soon to be Granddaughter is living with my Husband and me. With only one income a month I think my grandson comes first. He will be a year old the 20 of this month and his sister is due the 27. He was my Valentine gift last year and his sister will be it this year. All I want is for my Daughter and Granddaughter to be healthy. I thank God for always making a way for us. And I know God will bless!y Daughter and Granddaughter to!
