A Holiday Favorite from Jean C. Gordon

For those of you who didn't get my cheesecake recipe yesterday at the Sweet Romance Reads Christmas Party on Facebook, I'm sharing it here today, too.

But first as an aside, the party threads and giveaways are still active until 8 pm this evening. Check out the after-party> HERE.

Almost Fat-free Cheesecake

1-2/3 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup sugar
8 tablespoons butter or margerine melted

3 pkgs (8 oz each) nonfat cream cheese cubed (you can use regular cream cheese)
1-1/2 cups sugar
4 eggs
3 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 cups nonfat sour cream (you can use regular sour cream)

Combine graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar and butter. Press into the bottom and sides of a 10-inch spring form pan. In large mixing bowl, beat cheese until smooth; gradually add 1-1/2 cup sugar, beating until fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add flour, and lemon juice. Mix well. Fold in one cup of sour cream. Pour into pan. Bake in preheated 325 degree oven for 60 minutes. Turn off oven and leave door ajar for 30 minutes. Combine other cup of sour cream, 2 tablespoons sugar and vanilla. Carefully spread over cheese cake, return to oven for 30 minutes with door ajar (do not reheat oven). Remove from oven, cool, and refrigerate at least 3 hours or over night. If desired, garnish with fruit.

For many years, I made my cheesecake for family gifts. Now it's just for us and my daughter and her family. So what holiday favorites do you have at your house?

And for your TBR pile, my new Love Inspired Romance releases December 19. It's already available at Harlequin.com

A Dad’s Second Chance
Widowed single dad Marc Delacroix doesn’t have time for surprises—especially one like Fiona Bryce. Finding out that she’s the biological aunt of his adopted daughter, Stella, is a big shock. While Fiona’s commitment to the little girl appears to be genuine, Marc wonders if he can truly trust her—or his own heart, which he vowed never to risk again. Fiona’s eager to connect with the sweet young niece she never knew she had, but Marc seems determined to keep her at arm’s length’s. Could Marc and Fiona’s shared love of Stella be the bond that transforms their fragile connection into a real family?

  2. Jean, Thank you for sharing this recipe. Last night, Abby and I were going through her Bubbie’s cookbook looking for a good cheesecake recipe. I can’t wait to show her this one!
