Water... by Christine Bush

It’s a basic building block of life. Crucial.  I love water.

We hear it all the time, especially when it’s hot.. Keep hydrated!  Drink a zillion cups of water!  Drinking water is crucial to health.

But it’s also fun.  Hanging out near the water is a favorite pastime.  The beach, the pool, the river.

Even when it’s NOT hot, being near the water can be a soothing thing.  In my Christmas novella from last year, “Christmas Holly”, Holly spends her holiday minding pets at her sister’s cottage on a small island off the coast of South Carolina.  It’s a place of healing and peace.. and of course, love!

My favorite form of exercise also has to do with the water.  Aqua aerobics with my fellow water enthusiasts is a highlight of my days.  Water can be both fun and healthy.

Water is a necessity, and in some places and cultures, the lack of it is a real challenge.  In my new romantic mystery, “Sunny’s Smile”, someone is draining the life supporting water tanks from hogans on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico. Working together to solve the mystery that is threatening her people, my heroine Dr. Sunny Whitefeather, and newly retired Air Force pilot Ben Highfield find love as well as restoring peace and justice.

So drink your water. Enjoy the view. Play in it. Exercise in it. Keep it clean.  And pay attention to the social justice side of thing. Make sure everyone on the planet has life giving water.  Because water is very, very cool. What do you think?

  1. I love swimming! Especially in the ocean because the water is so warm and soft. The Caribbean is a wonderful place to dip in the water and so are the beaches in Hawaii.

  2. I play tennis, and we drink water always during the change from one side of the court to the other. It's especially important in this desert climate.

  3. Great reminder and post, Christine. We should never take water for granted.
