Do you like to talk books? by Alicia Street

Do you join in conversations on Goodreads? Or Google +? Yahoo groups? As a reader, I often find new-to-me books on Twitter or comment on a Facebook post that’s about something I’ve just read. I know authors who love visual images on Pinterest and meet readers through boards that focus on a shared interest.

One of the things I love about online communities is that you can share
coffee with someone who lives hundreds of miles away, or maybe thousands, or even on the other side of the planet.

Okay, maybe we can’t actually share real coffee, but we can exchange thoughts and ideas and experiences. Swap recipes. Laugh about goofy things that happen in our day-to-day lives. Gush over a moving novel we’ve just finished. Most of us take it for granted because we do it every day, but when a reader in Malaysia or Australia or clear across America sends me an email or a tweet or a Facebook message telling me about a part of my book that touched on something in her life, I can’t help but be thrilled.

So I’m excited about the Sweet Romance Reads Café—a new place to hang out and chat with authors and readers who like romance novels on the sweet side. Aside from good company, SRR authors will be posting contests and giveaways. The group is brand new, so come on over and help us get things rolling.
